How to make sun rays??

Does anyone know how to make sun rays? I went on walk last night and took this picture of the sun shining through some sunflowers. I was trying to get the sun to look more like the bottom picture(taken by Annie West of http://sweetyesterdaysphotos.blogspot.com/ ), but couldn't figure it out. Is it something you do with the camera or in Photoshop after?

Please give me some tips if you know how.

hey Hollie! Its an in camera thing not photoshop. Basically you have to have your aperture set to f/8 or higher to get the sun to star, remember the higher your aperture the more that is in focus, so the higher your aperture is the more of a defined star you will get. Hopefully this helps you out =)

That's a really great tip! The pic I took was with a 3.5 aperture.
I'll take the same picture tonight with a higher aperture and see how it turns out.
Thanks.

I took a few of the girl on the train at the workshop at like f18 and they have big sunflares. I'll post them later.
